7 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2019

1. Cole, Dunne Steal The Show

When the NXT Championship match began with Adam Cole and Pete Dunne selling their injuries from TakeOver: WarGames, you got the sinking feeling that they were going to use the wounds to dumb the match down to WWE pace (noticeably slower, more basic).

Instead, the two ramped things up and just unloaded on each other, hitting all their signature spots. Dunne hit his X-Plex, moonsault to the floor and a Bitter End for a close two count. Cole caught Dunne’s attempted moonsault out of the corner with a superkick, nailed a Panama Sunrise on the apron and hit a Shining Wizard.

There were too many false finishes to count, but the actual ending was memorable: Dunne went for a second Bitter End, only for Cole to seamlessly counter into a modified Panama Sunrise, and then immediately nail the Last Shot for the pin.

Great, great match. If you weren’t a fan of NXT before the match, you had to be afterward.
