7 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2019

2. Women’s Match Stumbles

This writer tried to really enjoy the main event, but something about it just felt completely… off.

The crowd just wasn’t into it, and it’s not like they were burned out. Bayley, Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler all are capable wrestlers who have had really good PPV matches, so this should have worked. And maybe as a one-on-one between Lynch and Baszler, it would have. But as a triple threat, it just didn’t hold up.

And while someone had to lose, Bayley’s post-heel turn period has been less than stellar. She lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship (though she quickly regained it), changed her look from something truly distinctive to what could be politely called nondescript, lost to Charlotte Flair several times, and taken a backseat in this mini-rivalry.

The women tried really hard, and this wasn’t a bad match, but it also wasn’t all that good, definitely not what you’d want from your main event.
