3. WWE Misses The Point

The moment NXT was brought into the mix for Survivor Series, you had to wonder how the WWE braintrust would book them for this PPV. If you’re a diehard NXT fan, you certainly would be skeptical.

And there were quite a few instances where you’d have to wonder what they were thinking. Why bring WALTER in for his WWE PPV debut and job him out in 3 minutes? Why have Toni Storm debut and do absolutely nothing of note? Why have Seth Rollins – persona non grata among a large swath of fans – eliminate Tommaso Ciampa? Why not give Keith Lee some actual time to shine against Roman Reigns and really earn that respect fist bump afterward? Why have Matt Riddle get taken out like a geek without showcasing any of his talents?

The fans were clearly jonesing for NXT to take center stage, and while they technically “won” Survivor Series, there were quite a few instances where they missed the point. Not all of these were critical mistakes, but it shows that the company still doesn’t entirely get it.
