Fans who know a little bit know that the man playing Sin Cara wasn’t always the man playing Sin Cara. The original Sin Cara, known as Mistico in Mexico, was replaced by the former Hunico in late 2013.

The rivalry between Sin Cara and Andrade “Cien” Almas was billed as them knowing each other from way back, with announcer Tom Phillips throwing in a plea for Almas to respect those who came before him. A quick check of a wrestling match database reveals that Almas and the current Sin Cara had never crossed paths in the ring before this year, while Andrade has been in a ring with Mistico (the former Sin Cara) dozens of times through the years.

That’s what made Corey Graves’ retort perfect: Graves noted that Sin Cara “never takes off that ridiculous mask,” so it could quite possibly be a different guy under the mask than the person Almas knew back in the day.

Spot. On. *Slow clap*
