7 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2019

5. The Best Outcome

The mini-feud between Elias and Roman Reigns wasn’t doing either man any favors, so as we headed into Money in the Bank, you had to wonder how they’d resolve it.

Elias simply isn’t in Roman’s league, but you couldn’t have him lose in a squash either. A drawn-out match would have lowered Reigns, who isn’t being booked as still recovering from his battle with cancer.

So WWE resolved it by having Elias take Roman out backstage with a guitar shot, then perform a song before leaving the arena. On his way out, Reigns attacked with a Superman Punch, tossed the troubadour back into the ring and delivered a quick spear to the disoriented Elias.

This wasn’t a classic, but hopefully it puts a period on things. However, we’ll likely get a second match with Elias winning so they can setup the rubber match for the next PPV, which will turn this sour fast.
