7 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2019

2. Super Shane Strikes Again

Oh, come on.

When you talk about ridiculous moments in WWE in 2019, you’re going to have to count 50-year-old Shane McMahon surviving nine chairshots and a Skull-Crushing Finale on a chair to continue to fight back, kick out of a (crappy) frogsplash, and go on to win his steel cage match against The Miz.

This should have been the blow-off to the already too-long, past-its-sell-by-date feud between Shane and Miz, and it should have ended with Miz destroying McMahon to actually get himself over as a serious threat and possibly even and upper-midcard to main-event player.

But no, we got Shane escaping defeat due to referee stupidity, then immediately fighting back, overcoming a fall from the top of the cage and frogsplash to lock in a (crappy) triangle, and finally escape the cage (via jersey slipping off) to win his second straight PPV match over Miz under dubious circumstances.

This is just beyond stupid in 2019, especially when you consider they had an opportunity to put Miz over strong here and had him look like a geek for the second PPV in a row.

And you wonder why WWE’s TV ratings are at their lowest ever? This is a pretty good example of why.
