7 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 20)

7. They Tried Really Hard

It’s tough to give negative marks to Rey Mysterio and Andrade, but their ladder match for the United States Championship just didn’t click.

The contest had some bone-jarring spots – including Andrade powerbombing Mysterio onto a ladder bridge, and Rey hitting a sunset bomb off the ladder, driving Andrade through another ladder bridge – but that really was all the match was: a series of spots.

There was no real flow to the match, no true drama, as there were two commercials right at points where someone could have taken advantage and climbed to victory. It was a handful of spots involving the ladders, Zelina Vega interfering, and finally Andrade retaining.

But as a match, sorry, it was just really long.
