7 Ways To Add Intrigue To Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Rematch
7. Promote It As Their Last Match Against Each Other
Perhaps the best way to add gravity to this next installment of Lesnar vs. Cena is to ensure that it will be the final encounter between the two rivals. After their previous two violent affairs, it will be very difficult for the two performers, regardless of how elite they are as workers, to top their prior matches. Begin the promotion by advertising this as the last meeting between The Beast and his SummerSlam victim. Have Triple H decree that their matches have been far too violent and he doesnt want to see John Cena, a man who, despite his personal opinion of him, earns WWE a lot of money, have his career ended at the hands of Brock, and that after Night of Champions the two will never face each other again in one-on-one competition. Ordinarily this would be a risky stipulation, promising to keep two of the biggest names in the business apart for the remainder of their careers, but Lesnar is likely in the midst of a very limited run anyway (with reports that his contract expires after WrestleMania XXXI) so its a safe move for WWE to make. Its already been frustrating that a high profile star with such limited dates has wrestled six of his precious few matches against two people. This would be a nice way to turn a rematch that weve just seen into yet another must-see affair between the two.
