7 Ways To Add Intrigue To Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Rematch
2. Make It An "I Quit" Match
Paul Heyman stands in center ring on Raw, cutting another brilliant promo where he thankfully informs those of us who werent aware that his client, Brock Lesnar conquered The Undertakers undefeated streak at WrestleMania, while also building John Cena up as this imposing adversary that takes a Herculean effort to defeat. But he wants to put a final punctuation mark on this feud, and he and his client have decided that the most definitive way to do so would be to make the paragon of never giving upgive up. Heyman calls for an I Quit match, and Cena accepts. Now youve added even more intrigue because its hard to imagine that WWE would ever book John Cena to submit, especially considering that his entire marketing mantra is based upon never doing so. After all, if he utters those two words to end a beating at the hands of Lesnar, whos going to buy all those towels? The I Quit match is a gimmick that isnt quite as overused as some others because forcing a wrestler to verbally submit is the ultimate defeat, much more so than catching somebody with a finisher for a quick win or the awful and played-out distraction finish. Tagging this match with that stipulation, and more importantly the logic behind doing so, would be the way to go to build interest in the event.
