7 Ways AEW Can Improve Their Women's Division

6. More Spots On The Card

There are so many talented people on the AEW roster that it will always be an impossible task showcasing them all on a two hour show. However, their women’s division has borne most of the brunt in this regard, and unfairly so.

Almost every single show has only had the one obligatory women’s match, which is simply not enough for an entire division. As a comparison, the tag teams always get multiple spots on the card, including main events.

While one can say that none of the AEW women’s rivalries have generated enough traction to be worthy of a main event slot, at the end of the day that is a direct consequence of these lack of opportunities.

The most glaring example of this came at Full Gear when the Britt Baker vs. Bea Priestley match was shunted to the pre-show despite being a relatively long term storyline with plenty of history, whereas Shawn Spears vs. Joey Janela found a spot on the main card, despite being a rivalry that only began one week prior.

If you want to treat a division right and enable it to be on par with the other ones, then you have to give it enough chance to shine instead of just the one token spot that usually reserved for the title holder.
