God bless Vince McMahon. When that man sets his mind to something, he does everything in his power to achieve it, even when it's an impossible task. By early 2016, fans had seen through every tactic used to get Roman Reigns over as the top face of the company. This did not stop WWE from going full-steam ahead in their planned main event feud for WrestleMania, pitting Roman Reigns against Triple H.

In their effort to have Roman get the ‘sympy’ of the people, Hunter mercilessly assaulted Reigns on RAW, even bloodying up the supposed underdog. The problem, of course, is that fans were not buying into the Roman Reigns experiment no matter what. And given that Triple H is a darling thanks to his Attitude era legacy and his status as the father of NXT, all hope for him being booed as the heel went right out the window. It’s nice that Vince tries so hard with Roman, but if this is what he tries to get him over as a face, it’s a good indication of how capable he is nowadays at creating stars.
