If NXT is looking to one-up its WWE counter-parts, then it is definitely going about it the right way in regards to its PPVs. So far NXTs four PPV specials have proven just how diverse and consistent two hours of wrestling can be. Sure, its easy to say that when NXT are only producing 4 hours of televised content a month versus the 20 plus that WWE are committed to, but, so far, not one second of a NXT PPV has been filler. For a great, recent example, look no further than NXT: R Evolution where the card featured top spots for next talent including a jaw-dropping debut for Kevin Owens (who broke his nose after a Third Eye by CJ Parker) and a truly thunderous tag-team David vs Goliath battle between The Ascension and Hideo Itami and Finn Balor. It was also a great opportunity to step up the ongoing rivalry between Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey (which looks to blow up fairly soon) and to end queen ratchet challenger Sasha Banks hopes of stealing the NXT Womens Championship from the dominant Charlotte in what can only be described as a vicious brawl. But the highlight would come in the 40 minute main event where Sami Zayn would put his career on the line to prove that he could best his former friend and adversary Adrian Neville after months of failed attempts. Emotions were high going into the match but Zayn fought long and hand and proved that his road to redemption would be paved with gold. If that wasnt enough, Zayns victory lap would prove to be just as heart-wrenching as any Hollywood ending and the final moments, where Owens would betray the newly minted champion, was as devastating as any Horror movie twist could want to be. You would be hard-pressed to find that kind of consistency in any of the WWE 2014 PPV's so maybe next time tune in to NXT...
