When Chris Jericho faces Bray Wyatt at Sunday's Battleground PPV you might hear WWE's announcers say that it's the first time they had a match. That's not really true although it would be their first televised match on the main roster. They actually had a match on the May 1, 2013 edition of NXT. Jericho has talked about when he was sent to NXT for that show he specifically asked for a match with Wyatt because he was really impressed by him. Their match was a 13 minute battle with Wyatt showing that he could hang with the WWE legend. It looked like Jericho might lose after the Wyatt Family interfered, but Jericho was able to fight back and won the match via submission thanks to the Walls of Jericho. Wyatt was called up to the main roster soon after this match while Jericho raved about working with him. That's why it is no surprise they're in a feud one year later at the request of Jericho. Sunday's match will be much more high profile than this one and should be better, but if you want a preview of what's to come you should watch this match.
