7 Ways UFC Could Book CM Punk's Return

5. Float A Fight Pass Event

The UFC's Fight Pass streaming service hasn't caught on like the WWE Network, and for one major reason: a lack of compelling live events. The company has a massive media library, but most of the live fights on there amount to preliminary card action that most fans are willing to skip (especially since they used to be free on Facebook).

To its credit, the promotion has tried to address this by signing deals with other, regional MMA promotions, and notably Invicta FC, the all-female women's promotion that serves as a pipeline into the UFC for many women.

Still, Fight Pass needs help, and it needs events - so why not utilize CM Punk.

While no one really feels Punk should be at the top of a televised or PPV UFC card, it would be hard to argue about putting on a Fight Pass event built entirely around him. The upside for the UFC is that it might, at least in the short term, drive up subscriptions - and maybe those subscribers would stick around after they see what else the platform has to offer.

The down side? Well, there really isn't one. If you build a card around him, it would probably bring more exposure for other fighters, and since it wouldn't be televised or on PPV, only those really interested would tune in.
