7 Ways WWE Can Salvage Sheamus
5. Paul Heyman
When Brock Lesnar returned to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2012, the list of potential matches for the Beast Incarnate was long, to say the least.
John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, The Undertaker and more were touted as potential opponents, and with the announcement of Orton as Lesnar's opponent at SummerSlam that leaves only two that haven't happened.
We'll never get to see Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan, and the chances are we won't see Lesnar vs. Sheamus either. One way that we could get there, whilst rehabilitating Sheamus in the process, would be by aligning the Celtic Warrior with Heyman during time when Lesnar is away.
The entire 'Paul Heyman Guy' thing didn't work for Ryback, Curtis Axel or Cesaro, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a success for Sheamus. Leave Sheamus to just batter his opponents, and have Heyman wax lyrical about the virtues of his new warrior. Sheamus is extremely enjoyable as a professional wrestler provided he doesn't open his mouth after all.
All of which could lead to a Sheamus vs. Lesnar showdown way, way into the future. Win or lose that battle, Sheamus will be a top tier player for good.
