7 Ways WWE Recently Blurred The Lines Between Reality And Storyline

6. The Authority Really Are In Charge

WWE.comWWE.comWWE has had its fair share of on-air authority figures throughout the years: William Regal, Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, Eric Bischoff, Jack Tunney and of course, Vince McMahon. In Vince€™s case, he really was the boss, but he also had been a fixture in WWE for more than 20 years before he was revealed to truly be in charge. While he really was in charge, he also has played a character (Mr. McMahon) who rules WWE with an iron fist. But in Triple H and Stephanie McMahon€™s case, the lines are a little blurrier. They first were an onscreen couple (pretending to be in charge when they really weren€™t), who then became a real-life couple, who broke up in storylines but got married in real life a year later. Then five years later, they threw all of that out the window and acknowledged that Hunter and Stephanie really were married. Fast-forward to today, and The Authority is a two-headed monster cut from the same cloth as the Mr. McMahon character. But unlike Mr. McMahon, Triple H and Stephanie often will break character due to their roles as executives of a billion-dollar company. Triple H has been seen on NXT as a hype man for the promotion and openly praising Sami Zayn. Stephanie has appeared in videos for Special Olympics and the heart-wrenching video tribute to Connor €œThe Crusher€ Michalek, showing a softer side that makes you wonder how this is the same person who has verbally assaulted Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
