7 Ways WWE Has Screwed Up Cesaro's Career This Year

7. Heath Slater Eliminating Him At Battleground Battle Royal

It may not seem like a big deal, but the way Cesaro was eliminated from the battle royal at Battleground was very telling. After he had done a good job of making himself look like a physical threat in his dealings with Big E and Kofi Kingston, he was surprisingly eliminated. It wasn't a big name. Not at all. In fact, it can be argued that the guy that eliminated him was lowest guy on the totem pole: Heath Slater. If it led to a match on Raw or Smackdown where Cesaro kicked his ass and destroyed him then it would be okay. Instead, there was no follow up. Cesaro had matches with Dean Ambrose this week, which is fine. No problem with that. It's just that if you're going to have somebody like Slater eliminate Cesaro then you better follow up on it. Why him? People laugh at Slater. He shouldn't be tossing Cesaro out. Cesaro was considered a favorite to win the Battleground battle royal to become the next IC Champion. Not only did he fail to do that, but he was the victim of a joke elimination with absolutely no payoff.
