5. Revealed As Roman's Attacker
This would be a great launching point for Murphy. After being confronted by multiple people on his involvement or witnessing of this attempted murder, him keeping this a secret would be an interesting swerve.
Think about how Buddy was involved in this in the first place. He was spotted in the background by eagle eyed fans and they just threw him into the mix. But rather than him fading away after Roman interrogated him, he has become a bigger and bigger part of this storyline.
This would stand to reason that with the way WWE rewrites last minute recently, they could have easily changed directions upon the recent success of Buddy on the main roster. And it doesn’t even have to be just him either.
They could easily say Daniel Bryan, Rowan, and Buddy all conspired together to keep Bryan protected from being revealed as involved. Then when coerced into talking by Roman, he revealed Bryan to keep the scent off his trail. Which of course angered both Rowan and Daniel, without them being able to directly explain why he's a liar. Thus the odd lookalike deflection that ended SmackDown.
This leaves open the possibility of feuding with either one, whilst also letting Daniel and Roman have a feud concurrently or afterward. Then perhaps a triple threat to really place Murphy on a bigger stage. And WWE gets their cake and eats it too, as they still have a big name match for a pay-per-view while Buddy gets to...
