Is Lana's long game about to be exposed by the one person that got as close to Rusev as she did?

The pair arrived in NXT and later WWE with a very different agenda than the one they have today. 'The Bulgarian Brute' has softened, gleefully cheerleading for his wife as well as gamely steering his own fanbase towards Lana as the two wade through creative treacle on the blue brand.

He was, originally, her assassin. He was a violent and bullish thug that literally crushed on her command, but her motivations were never truly established beyond the hint (and eventual reveal) of their romantic relationship. The pair's mixed fortunes since have seen Rusev look to Jinder Mahal before finding Aiden English and Lana aid the ailing career of Tamina Snuka, but neither relationship bore fruits on Raw and SmackDown respectively. Was her bloodlust not satisfied by Women's division mediocrity?

As Rusev Day began to cool, Lana miraculously stepped back into her husband's life to reheat the duo and make them a trio, but has enough time with the pair revealed to her the lack of killer instinct she once loved in Rusev? Did she confess this to English during a private moment - only for him to act on it when he struck 'The Bulgarian Brute' behind?

She acted shocked as Aiden attacked. Was that method behind his madness?
