7 Women WWE Should Put In Hall Of Fame

4. Alundra Blayze/Madusa

Should one incident that happened on a non-WWE broadcast be a black mark that haunts somebody for the rest of their career? Maybe not, but in the case of former WWE wrestler Alundra Blayze, better known as Madusa, it's probably going to keep her out of WWE for good. On the December 18, 1995 edition of WCW Monday Nitro, Madusa brought the WWE Women's Title onto the show and dumped it into the trash. It was a moment that apparently infuriated WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who took it as a personal insult because he had put her over huge in WWE and it wasn't a classy move to do that with a WWE Title on a WCW show. That was nearly 20 years ago. Madusa's barely been mentioned by WWE since then. In a WWE.com story from 2010, this is how Madusa explained her situation: "The longest running question to this day is why in the hell did you throw the title in the trash can? Well, I was under contract and Eric Bischoff told me to do it. It was either that or I was out the door. If I was a guy I would've been on the cover of every magazine. Because I was a woman, I was called a disgrace to the business. That's the truth." In terms of her accomplishments, she absolutely deserves it. She was one of the best American women's wrestlers in the late 1980s through the 1990s and was the face of WWE's Women's division in the early 1990s when they tried to revive it. She was so skilled in the ring. Some of her matches with Bull Nakano in particular were outstanding. Her WCW matches were probably better than most of the WWE matches, but there's enough there to warrant induction. It's a shame that the garbage incident is hanging over her like a dark cloud. If WWE can employ a guy like Eric Bischoff for years when his mission was to end the company, surely they could find a way to bring back the woman that they built the Women's Division around in the early 1990s. Hopefully it happens one day.
