7 Worrying Early Signs For WWE Survivor Series 2017

3. Failure To Capitalise On The Sami Zayn Dynamic

At last, Sami Zayn is doing something of note on SmackDown and justifying WWE's decision to switch him from Raw in April. Becoming involved in the Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens feud was a step in the right direction for Sami, but SmackDown's writing team took a step backwards on the latest episode.

There, Zayn lost to Randy Orton in the main event and failed to make Shane's main Survivor Series team. WWE missed a trick here; if the company are happy to mix heels and babyfaces on the same side anyway, wouldn't it have been better to book a Sami win so there's the threat of mutiny at Survivor Series on the SmackDown team?

It's an odd choice to keep Sami's story away from that equation for now. Of course, there's time to change that, but it's rapidly running out. Beating Sami as Orton did makes Zayn look like an idiot when he's claiming McMahon needs he and KO to help him beat Raw.
