7 Worrying Early Signs For WWE Survivor Series 2017

4. No Title Matches To Spike Interest

Nothing other than those aforementioned bragging rights are up for grabs at Survivor Series. Take Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. The Usos as a fine example. The match itself will be great, because both teams are solid, but what is the exercise supposed to achieve? 24 hours later, both teams will move on to fresh feuds.

Survivor Series is being built around the concept of champions from one brand bettering champions from the other. That falls down when the actual belts themselves aren't on the line. Why would Intercontinental Champ The Miz care about beating United States Champ Baron Corbin when there's nothing to gain and he already has to worry about a Raw General Manager (Kurt Angle) who doesn't like him?

Title matches spark some interest, but there won't be any at this year's Survivor Series. Last year, there was intrigue to The Miz's match because Sami Zayn would have taken the IC Title to Raw had he won. Not so in 2017, meaning even surefire good matches like The Shield vs. The Usos are rendered pointless.
