7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (July 2)
2. And So It (Hopefully) Ends
So in the end, Rockstar Spud was the heel in all of this? Since Impact (sorry, Global Force Wrestling) can’t be bothered to remember their storyline, here’s a handy recap for them:
Swoggle returned to Impact and started bullying Spud on a weekly basis for no good reason. Spud accidentally pulled down his pants (in the swerve of the year, it was revealed he did it on purpose, but still). Swoggle responded to this by violently beating him with a hammer. Spud nearly died and had to take pain pills to get through the day. Spud returns, and gets his revenge on Swoggle by hitting him in crotch with a hammer. They go to India. Swoggle is now the hero. Spud’s pants are pulled down. The end.
Along with the No. 1 on this list, Spud vs. Swoggle on Impact was in the bottom five moments of the year so far (toss in "This Is Your Life" for sure). So much of it was terrible. For starters, in a no DQ match, the ref threatened to end the match via DQ. Then to make the bout kind of resemble Wee LC, the ref was another short man they found on the street. This is because Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantell think short people are hysterical merely because they are short. This is something Vince McMahon also believes to be true. This is probably why the match took place on the incredibly important go-home show to Slammiversary. Double J simply needed a laugh. He was the only one, though, because Vince will never watch his show.
