6. Babyfaces Forget How To Babyface

Jinder Mahal John Cena

On SmackDown, John Cena genuinely praised Jinder Mahal for doing whatever it took to hold onto the WWE Title. That was very pleasant of him, but why would he do that?! What happened to upstanding citizen John Cena who would fight for what’s right, do all that hustle, loyalty, and respect stuff, and tell kids to take their vitamins and say their prayers and...oh wait...wrong guy. But still.

On Talking Smack, even Renee Young couldn’t help but lose her damn mind over how excited she was to see The Great Khali again (somebody had to be excited about it). Shouldn’t she have expressed outrage, or perhaps some mild annoyance over him costing Randy Orton the title? Jerry Lawler had to be the voice of reason in this situation!

Even if you look at the management team, nobody has any sort of moral compass. No one cared about Mahal cheating three pay-per-views in a row. In reality, Orton really should get another rematch (though not even Renee could be excited to see that) but since the company is too afraid to have Orton lose clean, unless it’s to Brock Lesnar’s elbows, they just move past it and ignore any sense of things being fair.

The thing is though, when good guys don’t care when bad guys cheat, then nobody gets any heat. That kind of defeats the entire purpose of there being heels and babyfaces.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
