7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (June 25)

4. Lana Is Nearly A Champ

In retrospect, every woman on the SmackDown roster looks ridiculous right now. They also all owe a special somebody an apology!

Lana asked to be in the Money in the Bank match and everyone laughed at her. After all, how can someone who has only had one match ever on the main roster possibly compete with the best in the division? That’s absurd! In no other sport could someone from the sidelines with no experience jump onto the field and suddenly take on the best in the business.

This is wrestling though, and we've been shown time and time again that athletes from other sports and celebrities are just as good as full-time talent. So the problem is, Lana was insulted to her face because she was believed to be terrible in the ring and then she nearly beat the champ and lasted 7:30. That makes the entire division look bad.

Another problem is that fans were also deprived of a story. Instead of Lana working her way up into a prominent role, she just becomes No. 1 contender. So they skipped about 10 chapters. Nothing was learned from Jinder Mahal it seems. Not that the audience should have expected any better.

Now, when is she going to get those apologies?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
