7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (May 1)
5. The New Jinder
All right, NOBODY believes that Jinder Mahal actually has more money than Randy Orton. So really, it shouldn't be a part of his act. Even if The Viper had to buy Bray Wyatt a new shed out of his own pocket after burning it down, he's still pretty well-off financially. Those glowing eye effects don't come cheap mind you, so we know Randy is loaded.
It's noble of WWE to give wrestlers a second chance. But it's also kind of ridiculous when they basically tell us to forget everything they've ever presented about a certain character on their own television series. Mahal can't just be a bad guy like he was before, but now with more credibility. He has to suddenly be rich, talk about class and hate people because he thinks they hate HIM over how he looks. So basically, he's Tiger Ali Singh in 2017.
If that's the route they want to go, then the announcers need to actually do their jobs and poke holes in his story. "No Jinder, people hate you because you cheat, not because of how you look." But that's not a thing that is even brought up.
Mainly, this new version of Mahal is just tiring for long-time viewers. Even fans under 10 have seen Rusev do the same anti-American thing...or Kevin Owens now suddenly doing it too. It's about the most played out trope in the business.
Besides, why should we even be upset? Mahal is targeting a guy who burnt a woman's corpse. He deserves whatever he's got coming to him.
