7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (May 1)

2. Wrestlers Suck At Their Jobs

Davey Richards And Moose
Impact Wrestling

There's just about nothing worse in all of professional wrestling than an athlete from another sport coming in and taking down a wrestler with little to no effort. The only thing worse is when celebrities do it.

Wrestlers are essentially actors who are playing tough guys/women. Therefore, someone who isn't trained in hand-to-hand combat shouldn't stand a chance against them in the narrative that promotions create. Rob Gronkowski may able to dominate Jinder Mahal (you know, the guy who we're suddenly supposed to take seriously...sorry to keep bringing him up), but imagine him trying to take down Conor McGregor and see how that would work. That's how WWE and Impact should think of it. Because the athletes aways leave. Then we're left with wrestlers who suck at fighting. That's no fun.

However, AT LEAST most wrestling fans probably know who Gronk is. Who the hell beat up Davey Richards? A couple of dudes who are never going to wrestle a match, that's who! Did Impact learn nothing from Pacman?

Richards has been one of the most interesting wrestlers to watch in 2017, and him being beaten up should have been held off for Eddie Edwards and only Eddie Edwards. But if Eddie can't beat up Davey in multiple attempts, then he must suck too. Hey, Moose also struggled in his match, so basically, everyone sucks and NFL players are the only legit athletes around.

What a bunch of Gronk.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
