7 Wrestlers Who Could Anchor WWE's New Cruiserweight Division

6. Kalisto

WWE has been searching for the "next Rey Mysterio" for several years now. With Mysterio close to retirement and not really happy with WWE anymore, they tried bringing in Mistico to fill the role as Sin Cara. That didn't work. Now Hunico is portraying Sin Cara, but it's not a gimmick that is really going to get over huge. However, Sin Cara's partner is a guy named Kalisto that has the kind of talent that WWE can really build around. He's one half of the current tag team champions with Sin Cara. Kalisto was known as Samuray del Sol prior to his WWE days. He was hired in May 2003 and at 27 years old, he's at a point in his career where the best is yet to can. If you've ever seen him in NXT, you know he can do some jaw dropping stuff. He really reminds me of Mysterio from 20 years ago. Sure, we've seen other luchadore style wrestlers for the past two decades so there's really nothing "new" that can be done, but Kalisto might be the quickest guy in all of WWE. He's one of the smallest guys in WWE right now at 170 pounds, so whenever he wrestles anybody he's going to be the ultimate underdog, which is the role Mysterio thrived on. Kalisto can be a huge part of WWE's Cruiserweight division. He's a babyface they could definitely build around.
