7 Wrestlers Who Could Anchor WWE's New Cruiserweight Division

2. Tyson Kidd

In order for WWE's Cruiserweight division to take off, they need a strong heel character to rile up the fans and upset them. That's where Tyson Kidd comes into play. His heel turn this year has been one of the best parts of the NXT brand. It has also led to him getting more of an opportunity on Raw, Smackdown and Main Event. In fact, just last week he was on all four WWE shows. The Kidd character is working because he's being a jerk to his wife Natalya. She's trying everything she can to impress him while he appears to be disinterested in her while focusing only on his own career. She's either going to turn heel to join him in rising to the top or she's going to dump him in the storyline. No matter what direction they go in, the story is going to work because it's been entertaining thus far. As a WWE performer for about eight years, the 34 year old, 210 pounder is the perfect candidate to be WWE's first heel Cruiserweight Champion. If they put the title on a face right away then what? There's not much for him to do. The first champion should be a heel, then you build up a face to challenge him and you go from there. A lot of the guys mentioned here don't have fully developed characters. They're still working on that. Kidd is a polished performer that is taking advantage of every opportunity given to him. Making him a key figure in WWE's Cruiserweight division would be a wise choice.
