7 Wrestlers Who Could Anchor WWE's New Cruiserweight Division
3. Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn signed with WWE in January 2013. He's still a guy that wrestles mostly in NXT even though the 30 year old is arguably the best in-ring performer in the company. He really doesn't need "development" because of how good he is, but we saw with a guy like Seth Rollins that staying in NXT for two years isn't that bad. Look at where he is now. If WWE decided to call up Zayn to put him on the main roster tomorrow then that would be great. He has been on Raw as well as Main Event, but it's not a regular role yet. Maybe they are waiting to put the NXT Title on him. Then again, maybe they're thinking about him as a Cruiserweight Champion. Zayn in the kind of performer that's going to have a great match with just about anybody. It doesn't matter how big they are. He's the right size at 210 pounds where he's not too small and he's obviously quick enough to hang with the smaller guys too. Thanks to his popularity as a babyface wrestler that plays off the crowd really well, Zayn's a great choice as the face of WWE's Cruiserweight division.
