7 Wrestlers Who Should Quit WWE
6. Alberto Del Rio
In August of 2014, Alberto Del Rio was fired from WWE after slapping an employee who made a racist joke. Del Rio immediately returned to Mexico's Triple A promotion, where he got a hero's welcome. Within months, he had won the group's heavyweight title, the AAA Mega Championship.
Del Rio branched out beyond Triple A, though - via the group's affiliation with Lucha Underground, he became a regular on the acclaimed wrestling program. He also worked several matches for Ring of Honor and Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council.
Pretty much everyone agreed that Del Rio, who seemed disinterested and disinteresting toward the end of his WWE tenure, had found himself outside the company. In October of 2015, though, he made a surprise WWE return, defeating John Cena for the U.S. Championship. Despite winning the belt, he was almost immediately stale again.
Today, Del Rio is back where he was in 2014 - he has no real storylines and no heat whatsoever. He made a mistake by coming back to WWE, but it's not too late. He can request his release and, if the company grants it, pick right up where he left off.
