7 Wrestlers WWE Released Who Deserve Another Run

Maybe it's time for their comeback now, Vince.

"Good luck with your future endevaours" is a phrase that many WWE wrestlers dread to hear. Despite the rise of NXT and the recent Raw and SmackDown brand split, the company still has an overly inflated roster with underused talent. As a result, those on the fringes may come to hear that phrase when their contract reaches its end.

Never say never in wrestling though, and unless bridges have been burnt to a cinder, there's always a chance that a career can be revived. Just ask Matt and Jeff Hardy, Kassius Ohno, Drew McIntyre, and even Jinder Mahal. It seemed unlikely when they left that they might one day return, yet here they all are back in a WWE ring once again.

A superstar's release can be a much-needed career boost. Instead of being buried in the under card, or continually trying to sell a terrible gimmick, they're suddenly free to run riot with their own characters on the indie circuit. And if they draw enough attention, Vince will surely come knocking again.

Who then, deserves to see their "future endevaours" mean that they return to the WWE for one more run?

7. Ryback

Ryback was Vince's "Big Guy". Despite questions raised about his in-ring ability (just ask CM Punk), he was often given killer opportunities in the WWE with title runs and main-event feuds. Hell, they even gave him Paul Heyman as a manger at one point.

But Ryback left the company under a cloud. After a contract dispute where he complained about talent not being paid fairly, his time there came to a sudden and crashing end. He's been wrestling on the indie circuit ever since, but he's still managing to antagonise his former employers. With recent comments about women in the WWE not being sexy enough, Ryback is as controversial, and as pig-headed, as ever.

With him actively trolling the WWE, it might seem unlikely that he'd be offered another chance. But any smark knows that real heat is good heat in pro wrestling, and a comeback as a heel - using his bitterness as a character trait - could help feed Ryback one more run.
