A member of the extensive Alvarado wrestling dynasty, Maximo is a third-generation performer whose family ties run incredibly deep and led to the crazy incident that saw him binned from Mexico's CMLL in May 2017.

This situation is so nutty that it almost sounds fake. Alas, though, it is true. On 19 May, security footage of Maximo and several other Alvarado family members (including his brother, Psycho Clown, a major star in AAA) trashing a fancy, expensive car that belonged to fellow CMLL wrestler Ultimo Guerrero, who had spoken out against Felipe Alvarado, who was looking to run for head of the wrestlers union. An Alvarado had held that position for more than a decade, so the goal was to uphold this.

Turns out that trashing another prominent CMLL wrestler's car wasn't the best tactic, though, as Maximo and cousin La Mascara were fired from the promotion three days after the incident. Both were holding championships at the time, with Maximo the reigning World Heavyweight Champion.

Maximo was largely limited to working independent promotions in the ensuing months, though he has since found a home in AAA.
