7 WWE 25th Anniversary RAW Returns Who Couldn't Survive PG

Barbara Jean Blank did not necessarily get over during her run with WWE due to exceptional in-ring abilities.

Scouted by John Laurinaitis, WWE brought Blank in to play the role of an exhibitionist named Kelly Kelly. Most of her early promos involved a certain kind of dancing on the (WWE) ECW stage before almost always being taken away by her boyfriend, who was just in time to stop the censors from having heart attacks. After a while, she developed her wrestling somewhat but still found herself in numerous gimmick matches, such as a 10-Diva "Dress To Impress" battle royal, which believe it or not, determined the number-one contender for the Diva Championship.

The entire concept of resident stripper would be nixed in WWE today for quite obvious reasons. Although she eventually became more competent in the ring and captured the Divas Championship near the end of her career, there is little doubt that the Extreme Exposés provided that initial push. Without the opportunity, Kelly Kelly would be left to stand on her in-ring skills, as speaking was not her forté either. While hurricanranas and head-scissors are fun to watch, they don’t come close to touching the move sets of wrestlers such as Charlotte, Natalya, or Asuka.
