A simple request from Cesaro to The Authority to prove himself is reason enough to initiate this sequence of matches.
The first four matches can be fought on Raw and Smackdown with the first three being traditional wrestling matches. Perhaps Sheamus uses a foreign object in plain sight of the referee, disqualifying himself as he falls behind the match count, 2-1. This would lead to a No DQ match for their fourth match, which Sheamus would win.
Their increasing brutality will be settled in a cage match at a Pay-Per-View for the fifth and final match.
