Remember Terri Runnels in her previous incarnation, Marlena? The cigar-smoking, kinda gruff "Sun Goddess" manager of Goldust? Or how about her brief run in WCW as Alexandra York, the bookish, laptop-carrying manager of Michael Wallstreet? Yeah, neither of those versions of Terri Runnels lasted nearly as long as they should have. Marlena was just the coolest kind of woman, one who didn't care about what people thought about her. But as soon as her relationship with Goldust dissolved (both onscreen and behind the scenes), they took all the character out of her appearance and transformed her into just another overly made-up diva who constantly sought male validation via crop tops and pouty lips. Don't get me wrong, her perfection of "the underboob" was certainly an awakening of sorts for the many pubescent boys watching during the Attitude Era, but it was only a matter of time before that's all she was known for.
