The year was 2008. Edge was the World Heavyweight Champion, and going into WrestleMania XXIV he had his own undefeated streak to protect against the man with the most famous streak of them all, The Undertaker.

Predictability had yet to sink in with regards to the Deadman and WrestleMania, and there was a genuine feeling that the Rated-R Superstar could pull off the win. He didn't, but this dream match deservedly headlined the show.

Edge and The Undertaker were no strangers to each other at this point however, and their first singles meeting had actually come some eight year earlier on an episode of SmackDown. Edge was a Tag Team Champion with his 'brother' Christian at the time, and 'Taker had just about settled into his biker gimmick, complete with his Limp Bizkit/Harley Davidson entrance.

The match itself was total garbage, Edge running around with a chair for most of it before taking a Chokeslam and a 1-2-3. Eight years later they would have their next one-on-one match. They went from less than two minutes on SmackDown, to the WrestleMania main event.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
