Who would have thought Goldust would still be a topic of conversation amongst wrestling fans in 2017, some 22 years after his debut? Cody Rhodes was just ten when his gilded half-brother first strutted his stuff down WWE aisles.

To put this is into context more relevant to Goldust's current Academy Award revival gimmick, around 748 statuettes have been doled out since the Oscar-personified implored us to remember his name. Even Leo DiCaprio has managed to win one in that time.

And 'Dust isn't just making up the numbers. His split with R-Truth was far more entertaining than it had any right to be, given the pair's usual, er, 'comedy', and a collision seemed likely at Sunday's PPV. Yet no such luck.

However, six matches are going to have to be stretched pretty thin to consume three hours, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see at least something from one or both of the divided Golden Truth. A backstage skit, a promo, maybe even an advert for some fried chicken: don't be surprised.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
