The Rock is arguably WWEs most successful superstar, having transcended wrestling and made a new career as a movie star. His return to his roots in 2011 was greeted with a thunderous ovation, and his matches with John Cena did huge numbers in pay-per-view buys (although the match quality left something to be desired). He also faced off against CM Punk in a stellar match for the WWE Championship, but hes now been absent from active competition for almost two years, and if he ever does return, it will likely be against Brock Lesnar. Whilst it would be a dream match in the eyes of some, its a bout that neither man truly needs, and The Rock would instead be better having his final match(es) with some up-and-coming superstars and helping them get over. How to do it: When he was feuding with John Cena, The Rock had no rebuttal when Cena argued that The Rock simply turned up for the big paydays. It was a hole in Rocks argument that he was back for good, and something that many Internet fans picked up on. WWE would be smart to exploit this hole, and have Rocky return to his Hollywood heel character that generated so much heat back in 2003. His first Rock concert in Sacramento showed his incredible ability to draw heat. The Rock perfected the character that The Miz is trying to portray now, and a return to this gimmick could be the catalyst for any number of feuds with up-and-comers who are sick of him taking their spot. Its an easy sell too put him up against Daniel Bryan. Have The Rock talk about how, back in his day, superstars looked like gods and werent skinny bearded indy-darlings like they are today. Have him say that hes back just to prove a point that he will always be the best ever. Then, have Daniel Bryan beat him cleanly in the middle of the ring, for the ultimate rub from a past generation.
