7 WWE Fake Accents That Are Miserably Poor

2. Lana

There is a long and storied history of pretending to be Russian in wrestling, and WWE’s Lana is the most recent incarnation as long as you don’t count Alison Brie’s character from the Netflix series, GLOW!

Debuting alongside 'The Bulgarian Brute' Rusev, the American born valet adopted the dialect as well. It seemed a natural fit, as the woman herself was raised in Latvia and was a one-time member of the Latvian National Ballet. She had been surrounded by Russian and similar accents from an early age.

Lana’s bad accent wasn’t always so terrible. When she debuted, Lana spoke with an authoritative, but not overdrawn Russian accent. As time has gone on, and with the transition to the main roster, the accent has become more of a parody of itself, sounding more like Natasha Fatale from Rocky and Bullwinkle than anything else.

In more recent months, the accent has slipped away on multiple occasions. At this time, it isn’t clear whether this is unintentional, or whether this might be an attempt to move Lana away from the Russian persona.
