7 WWE Feuds That Killed Careers

The idea that a solid in-ring worker like Terry Taylor needed Bobby Heenan's managerial expertise during matches when he joined the WWF in 1988 was forgivable. The thought that Taylor would split from Heenan, dye a patch of his blonde hair red and crow like a rooster wasn't.

When Taylor turned babyface, started taking his 'Red Rooster' nickname seriously and began referring to fans as "Rooster Boosters", it was embarrassing to watch. Maybe somebody could have overcome the cartoonish gimmick and made it work, but Taylor wasn't that man. Worse, his feud with Heenan felt beneath the manager and did nothing to change fan minds that Rooster was a flop.

After losing to Heenan's man Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam, the writing was on the wall for Terry. His WWF career would never recover from the nasty combo of babyface turn, dreadful gimmick and his program opposite a heel manager who was actually more endearing than he was.
