7 WWE Feuds That Killed Careers

6. Lance Storm Vs. Boredom (2003)

This is a bit of a strange one, because Lance Storm was technically feuding against Steve Austin in 2003.

They weren't wrestling though, and therein lies the problem. Austin was Raw General Manager at the time and took it upon himself to call Storm "boring" during the Canadian's matches. How this was supposed to get Storm over with fans is anyone's guess. Naturally, it bombed spectacularly, and crowds agreed with Austin that yes, Storm was drab.

The angle didn't go anywhere either. Lance looked like a goof by dancing around trying to please the fans, then he ended up jobbing to Rhyno after once again turning heel and telling the people to stick it. No match with Austin (which, admittedly, was a given), no solid babyface push and no momentum.

Nope, Storm was simply the victim of mean-spirited jibes from Austin about his in-ring work and nothing else. Less than a full year later, one of the best technicians on the roster chose to retire from being a full-time wrestler.
