7 WWE Main Events You Won't Believe Didn't Close A PPV

1. WrestleMania 18

The Match That Closed The Show: Chris Jericho vs. HHH, Undisputed Championship. It's hard to remember a WrestleMania main event championship match more forgettable than this one. This has absolutely nothing to do with the performance of the two guys in the ring. They both put on a great effort and HHH returning from his quad injury to feud with the man now aligned with his "ex-wife", was a good story to tell. Just not this year.
The Match That Should Have Closed The Show: The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan. If you have by some chance never seen this match, then you are in for a real treat. It's not often that a crowd alone can make a match great, but that's exactly what the fans in Toronto did that night. There was no question this match should have gone at last, even at the time of the show. Arguably the two most recognizable names in the history of wrestling meeting for the first time at the biggest event of the year. It is the definition of a no brainer. Even if there was concern about an aging Hogan putting on a less than stellar match, these two have enough combined in ring experience to overcome any weaknesses they might have to tell a great story. Unfortunately for the fans in attendance WrestleMania 18 ended on a down note and it didn't do much to help the performers who went on after this match, including those competing for the Women's Championship. But it doesn't take away from how truly memorable this once in a lifetime match was. (Yes they had a rematch).
