7 WWE Money In The Bank Winners That Flopped

6. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler's Money in the Bank cash in the night after WrestleMania 29 in New Jersey is one of the best moments in Raw history. He won the briefcase at the Money in the Bank show in July of 2012, so he was carrying it around for about eight months. Fans were clamoring for him to cash in and finally get a good reign as World Champ unlike his 2011 reign that lasted less than an episode of Smackdown. Unfortunately for Ziggler, he didn't even get a PPV title defense after his World Title win. That's because he had a concussion that caused him to miss Extreme Rules when he was going to defend the title against Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger. When he returned at Payback in June, he was booked like a loser as Del Rio took advantage of the concussion. It turned Del Rio heel and made Ziggler a face, but it also ended Ziggler's reign. We don't know what the plan was for Ziggler's reign, but it was likely going to last longer than 69 days. It sucks that WWE didn't believe in him more by giving him a significant reign. He was hurt. So what? He came back. Give him a chance to prove himself. Maybe if the story led to him getting the title back from Del Rio it would have been fine, but it didn't go that way at all. Ziggler hasn't been able to recover from his title loss a year ago. He's barely on television and is kept off most PPVs despite being a great worker that is popular. It's lazy booking on WWE's part.
