This was a huge match for NXT, because the spotlight was finally on bright, and the NXT Superstars were starting to get the acknowledgement they deserved from the main roster.

The same week, all four of these men fought on Monday Night Raw in a tag match, with Neville and Zayn coming out victorious. The pressure was definitely on to live up to the hype when the moment came around, and the match did not disappoint.

The bout itself was hugely entertaining, starting out with a chaotic brawl at ringside, and then breaking off into one-on-one affairs after Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze’s alliance was shattered when the latter went for a sneaky pin. Everyone involved had a lot to prove, and while there could only be one winner, everyone came out looking equally impressive.

Sami Zayn, in particular, looked phenomenal in his first Takeover main event, and for a moment it really looked like this match was his.

However, the finish with Neville stealing a victory from an arguably more deserving Zayn had the fans chomping at the bit to see a singles match between the two, and it wouldn’t be long until we got what we wanted.
