7 WWE Royal Rumble Eliminations That Were NEVER SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!

3. Randy Savage (1992)

If Shawn Michaels became a master of Rumble wizardry, then Randy Savage became a prime example of someone who repeatedly forgot the rules. In 1993, he tried to pin Yokozuna before the big sumo gimmick tossed him to the outside. That was a work, but his exploits one year earlier, apparently, weren't.

Look at him go.

After kneeing Jake Roberts up the arse and eliminating his fiercest rival, Savage nonsensically hopped over the top rope, jumped down onto the floor and started pummelling Jake with punches. On commentary, Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon said Randy was out because he'd willingly jumped over the ropes. Then, they changed their minds and claimed wrestlers were only eliminated when someone else threw them over.

It was obvious that Savage had been caught up in all the passion and heat of his feud with Roberts and botched big time. He couldn't actually leave though, because he was supposed to be involved in the final four drama later on.
