7 WWE Stars Who Can Never Be Babyface Again

5. Finn Bálor

Smiling.

That's literally all cheeky Irish chappy Finn Bálor did on Monday nights when he was on Raw. For those who had watched his marvellous work in Japan as part of the Bullet Club or admired his kinship with fans during his first NXT stint, this absolutely sucked. He smiled, and smiled, and smiled, and sh*tting smiled.

Since moving back to NXT, Bálor has found his place in the WWE system again. His heel turn was necessary, clawed back some of the edge he'd lost as a grinning weirdo on Mondays and helped him sharpen his ring work too. The brand jump should be considered a rescue mission Finn needed to salvage his character.

It's difficult to see anything beyond mediocrity for him as a babyface in WWE if they decide to turn him back to playing goody-gum-drops in a leather jacket any time soon. The naturally charming Bálor will only grin like he's happy to be there, and that's a poor substitute for his maniacal smirks on NXT when warring with guys like Johnny Gargano.
