2. Roman Reigns

Love him or hate him, Roman Reigns has been an incredibly successful Royal Rumble match performer to date, and could well go on to become the greatest in the history of the event. Reigns has taken part in three Rumbles, never finishing outside of the final three and winning the event in 2015. The Big Dog holds the record for most eliminations in a single Rumble, and is eighth on the all-time list of eliminations with 23 in his three Rumbles. To put that into context, he is already ahead of John Cena on that list.

Whether or not he eventually turns heel (which must be an inevitability), Reigns is going to be a fixture towards the upper end of the WWE pecking order for the foreseeable future. A wellness policy violation only briefly knocked him off of his path, so it is fair to say the main event is where Roman is staying.

WWE still want him to be a megastar, and as such will put their all behind him. Reigns will win another Rumble, and may even win multiple more. Believe that. Ahem.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
