The Iron Sheik's rivalries with Hulk Hogan helped usher in the next era in WWE. Hulk Hogan was the patriotic hero while The Iron Sheik was the foreign heel who despised all things American. Teaming with Nikolai Volkoff elevated The Iron Sheik, but it was his alliance with Sgt. Slaughter that really opened people's eyes.
