7 WWE Women's Feuds That Should Have Been Better
1. AJ Lee Vs. Paige
AJ Lee and Paige were pioneers of the Women's Evolution in their own right. Whilst AJ was a major merch mover, and arguably carried the entire Divas division, Paige was making a credible name for herself as NXT Women's Champion. With the skill and fan support behind these women, their feud should have been explosive, a starting point for the Divas' Revolution. Except it wasn't.
Although Paige's debut and instant win of the Divas Championship drew a positive crowd reaction, the poor booking of the Anti-Diva afterwards slowly killed most of her momentum. AJ vs. Paige dwindled into a lazy feud full of five minute matches, numerous title changes, and poorly written "crazy chick" tropes. Nikki Bella's addition to their Night of Champions title bout felt lazy, an effortless way of combining the two women's feuds and saving time.
An unstoppable heel who had defeated all of her challengers, Paige was the rebel from NXT who should have had an explosive rivalry with the undefeated champion. Instead, Paige was booked as a copycat of AJ's gimmick. This should have been the feud that ignited the Women's Evolution. Instead, it was a bit of an embarrassment.
